India & Ghana

INDIA-AFRICA FRAMEWORKRAILWAY PROJECTPHARMA EXPORTSITEC PARTNER

India and Ghana have maintained warm and friendly relations since Ghana's independence in 1957, underpinned by shared anti-colonial values, Commonwealth membership, and a steadily growing economic partnership. India is among Ghana's top trading partners and is the largest destination for Ghanaian exports (mostly gold). India has extended approximately USD 450 million in concessional credit and grants to Ghana, including the landmark Tema-Mpakadan Standard Gauge Railway — inaugurated in November 2024 — one of India's largest infrastructure projects on the continent. PM Modi visited Ghana in July 2025.
